Thanks again for your post. Karen the dead bolt is a straight mechanical bolt that is usually unaffected like the door lock part. Wipe off your door jam area where the dead bolt would fit and then place a lot of the chalk onto the end of the dead bolt pin itself. Use a pair of pliers to bend the bent lever up into the proper position.
