Stretch the plastic across the general area of the leak.
Check the sides of the shed for dark patches or streaks as this may indicate dripping or running water.
Either one you can secure with sheet metal screws and then put sealant over those and the seams and you ll be good to go.

Check plumbing vent boots and roof vents if water is entering from that area to cause the leaking roof.
Look for cracks in the base of flexible rubber flashing or broken seams in metal varieties of vent pipe flashing.
Put a few sheets of tin roofing on it or you can get those plastic corrugated wavy sheets and place them over the old roof.
Eventually a plastic shed may crack due to sunlight exposure which dries the plastic.
To check for leaks you ll need to look out for discoloration on the inside roof and walls of the shed.
You ll need to check for any discoloration to the structure particularly stains and darker patches.
