This method of installing gutters is a less expensive cost for the gutter company using this method. Years ago spikes and ferrules were a common method for hanging gutters. When they come loose the gutters can hang away from the roof which creates openings for the rainfall to leak past. These gutter screws are solid and provide a secure mounting of the gutter to the fascia roof joist.

Rain gutters should be attached to the fascia and run the entire length of the roof ending with a downspout.
